Log Entry #01: Subject 001's Upbringing

Logged by: [REDACTED]

A blinding flash of light flooded the room as an infant lies amidst the rubble beneath her. An ethereal glow radiating from her chest before slowly fading away. The research team Ever stationed within the Gaia Research Facility were in awe of the baby's sudden appearance, but one researcher knew the child likely wouldn't survive in an environment as such. Instead, after everyone had left, she took the child from the "room" she was being kept in and took the child home with her as she quit the research team in that moment. The child needed a name, and recalling how radiant the light was when she first appeared, the woman decided to name her "Khenet."

In the following year, the woman and her husband began to realize just how hard it was to care for a child on one income, but they still did their best for her. Her first "birthday" was coming soon, and they wanted to make it special for her. Cake. Balloons. Family and friends. Khenet's "birthday" party was a massive success, but her parents knew that it was going to require a lot of overtime hours in order to replenish their savings.

Three years had passed, and Khenet was playing in the backyard with the neighbor kids, unaware of what was happening inside. Her mother had dreaded the day her former colleagues would discover where their creation had disappeared to, and that day had finally arrived. Dimitri and Josephine had both been trying to convince her to give Khenet to them willingly, but it ultimately ended with a deal being struck. If Khenet was to be handed over to them, she would be given a hefty sum to make up for everything they had spent trying to care for her. While Khenet continued to play with the other kids in the backyard, Dimitri had walked outside and called out to her before he grabbed her hand and led her to the waiting car. While she fought with him, screaming and crying, Khenet looked back at her parents and cried out to them, but they only turned their gaze away from her, upsetting the young girl as she was placed in the backseat before the car drove away. The young girl watched as the life she knew quickly retreated into the distance, a deep resentment forming towards the ones who raised her.

Log Entry #24: PROJECT: UNICORN

Logged by: Researcher Dimitri

Subject 001 has shown us amazing progress with unlocking her abilities lying dormant within her, especially her ability to resonate, however, her attitude has seems to have taken a turn. While it is still hard for her to properly resonate with us who do not have an Evol, Subject 002 became the next test to see if she can properly resonate with other Evolvers. Our theory was prove correct as her resonance with Subject 002 increased the effectiveness of his Evol but a minimum of 100 percent. However, each time she uses her Evol, it seems to take a toll on her heart or stop it completely, yet she still comes back to life. This changes everything about our research into immortality, and we are going to see if we can push her to her limit. There is so much to discover about her abilities that it makes one wonder if she truly is immortal.

Log Entry #56: Attempted Escape

Logged by: Researcher Dimitri

After the sudden departure of Researcher Josephine and Subject 002's disappearance, Subject 001 seems to be in a state of distress due to his absence. Her attitude regarding our tests takes a turn for the negative as she is refusing to cooperate with us and try escaping. She was able to reach the furthest staircase before she was subdued by a couple of our elite guards. As punishment, we brought her into the main part of the lab and brought up the leather straps to strap her to the table. She will learn her place in the facility, even if it requires us to make strides on pushing her past her limits and risk breaking her psyche even more. This time, however, we use a bit of our own creativity to devise our plan of placing a Toring Chip in the back of her head. She will learn the hard way as to why she will never be able to stop our advancements into understanding her Evol and the Aether Core. However, we did note that she seems to retain her memories each time she is forced to resurrect.

Log Entry #107: Forced Resurrections

Logged by: Researcher Dimitri

It has been a few years since the last update in this log, and our studies of 001 has brought us a significant amount of data regarding the Aether Core's abilities to regenerate her body. While we have only been testing with smaller cuts, we plan on eventually deeper cuts and potentially loss of limbs. If the Aether Core's ability is able to heal these small cuts fairly quick, then it should not take long for the deeper cuts to heal. However, our research team is beginning to grow wary of 001's power after many resurrections. The others keep saying that if we keep up with tormenting her, she will only grow stronger. We are on the verge of amazing breakthroughs into the human psyche of being tortured. However, we notice her emotional state, despite all of the emotional turmoil that's happening around her after we implanted the Toring Chip in her. Granted, it is a surprise to know that it doesn't erase or alter any of her memories, but she does suffer from fatigue and migraines when the chip activates. Perhaps this is another experiment we should run on another individual to see if the effects of the chips vary from subject to subject or if she's just a rare case. It is to be stated that her right eye's iris seems to have taken on a bit of a more metallic appearance with the gold. We are unsure of what is the cause, but some researchers speculate it is our doing.

Log Entry #213: Final Escape Attempt

Logged by: Researcher Dimitri

Today marks the 16th year since she first manifested in their presence, and she is becoming as feisty as ever. Each time we want to conduct a few more tests, she seems to raise her voice and fight with us to the point we have to sedate her in order to perform the tests. What strikes us as fascinating is how she knows when to tap into the power of the Aether Core just seconds before we take her life in order to resurrect. This last test, however, proves to be the final straw.

One of my most trustworthy colleagues have gone behind my back to help her. He always had a soft spot for Subject 001, going as far as helping her after our tests. However, his actions have earned him immediate termination as he was able to provide aid to 001's escape. I will never understand why she is against our strides towards helping humanity with achieving immortality, but she will come back to us. She will come searching for answers about who or what she is, and when that day comes, we will take control of her fate as our prized creation. As I finish writing this entry, our creation has escaped her fate, for now.
